Research
I study the intersection of causal machine learning, climate variability, conflict, and food security in socio-environmental systems.
Studies
Causal4FS-CBT
- Topic: Impact of Cash-Based Transfers on Food Security in Somalia
- Method: Average Treatment Effect (ATE)
- Focus: Estimates the causal effect of humanitarian cash-based transfers on the number of people in IPC Phase 3 or higher.
- Data: Collected and merged various indicators to construct a country-level dataset.
Causal4FS-Prices (WIP)
- Topic: Impact of Food Prices on Food Security under Climate Variability across Sub-Saharan Africa
- Method: Conditional Average Treatment Effect (CATE)
- Focus: Investigates how food prices affect food security across Africa, conditioned on the effects of ENSO on NDVI.
- Data: Uses an externally constructed dataset covering food prices, NDVI, and IPC classification.
